What are you learning?
STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. In the basic option STEM sciences you and your teacher will set out to discover and further develop your talents within a STEM course. This within the context mathematics & sciences.
In STEM sciences you learn to devise and design your own systems. You are challenged to investigate for yourself which choices you can make in a safe and well-considered manner ('Which raw materials, tools, machines… will you use?'). You complete the circle by testing and, if necessary, improving your system.
You will also examine everyday systems to gain inspiration. You use mathematics and science for this. To learn to understand the language of science, you also learn to read manuals, plans & drawings. Because a real thinker and doer uses all his talents.
When you have become acquainted with all these possibilities, you will already have a completely different picture of all professional and study opportunities in which you can use these talents.
This training is a collaboration between GO! Spectrum school en GO! Athenaeum of Deurne. You follow the general lessons on GO! Atheneum Deurne. You can follow practical, subject-specific and technological lessons with us in our refined workshops.

Do you ever wonder how a natural phenomenon or a device works? Do you like to experiment yourself? Do you really want to make your own invention? Then the basic STEM Sciences option is for you!
What after?
Have you passed the 2nd year? Then you can start in the 2nd degree. The basic option 2A STEM sciences is an ideal preliminary training for our new study program Technological Sciences. Also Electrical techniques & Electromechanical Techniques are a possibility.
