What are you learning?

In full-time Auto-Electricity training (labor market finality) you learn to work independently on passenger cars, vans, etc. It is a very practical training. You learn to make the correct diagnoses in case of defects, maintain cars and carry out repairs according to the rules of art. This in combination with internships.

In 2nd degree Auto-Electricity focuses on the electrical processes of a car and the maintenance of motor vehicles. Part of the training consists of residential electricity. Here you will learn the basics of household electrical installations and the relevant regulations. Another part is focused on Auto Electricity. You learn in a theoretical and practical way how the electrical processes of a car come about. A third component is Auto-Mechanics. You study the mechanical processes and learn how to maintain motor vehicles.

In 3nd degree Auto-Electricity you get extensive knowledge of the different parts and the operation of the car. This involves both mechanics and electrical facilities. Also the engines, the rolling part, the chassis, the different fuel systems and the bodywork are on the program. You learn to use simple calculation sheets via computer for the calculation of the cost price and talk about this with the customer.
During your work, you learn to take into account the safety provisions for a car mechanic and the regulations in the field of health, hygiene, environment and ergonomics.

During you Internship you get an extensive chance of what you know and can apply in practice. You also taste the real work situation in a garage.

For who?

Do you enjoy working on cars, mopeds and bicycles? Do you like beautiful cars? Are you willing to learn from practice and are you not averse to physical labor?
Then this direction may be something for you.

What do we expect?

You can always start in the Auto-Electricity course, although basic knowledge of Electricity is certainly a plus. We do expect you to be eager to learn and to have a broad interest in mechanics and cars. You do not get many general subjects, but do not underestimate the technical part of the training. After all, modern vehicles are full of technical gadgets and new technologies.

What after?

After the 3e degree Automechanica you get it certificate of Secondary Education. You then have, however not yet a secondary education diploma. It is therefore recommended to have one 7e specialisatiejaar to follow. At our school you can specialize in the Auto study area Auto-Electricity. After getting it certificate of Secondary Education and Business Management you are a full-fledged car mechanic and you can start work in the workplace or even start your own business.

From the 3 degree Internship an essential part of the training, but also in the past the pupils are already in contact with the shop floor and the business world.

Our stewards and employees have employment years of experience with guiding our students on the work floor. Within each learning domain we have an extensive network of companies where internships can be run.

There are also walking many collaborations with sectors, companies we work on project-based, such as VDAB, Agoria, Umicore, Atlas Copco, etc.

This system certainly pays. 7 on 10 employers will hire someone sooner if they have had a form of workplace learning during their training, according to UNIZO research. "Workplace learning should become self-evident in all training courses, and should be directly in line with the needs of the companies themselves," said former UNIZO CEO Karel Van Eetvelt.

If you choose Learning + Skills you follow a full-time training. You become skilled in your profession and you become acquainted with the labor market. You choose a field within Industry, STEM, Sports or Healthcare (Society & Welfare).

You get practical training by our subject expert teachers. Learning on the work floor is an important part of our full-time courses in Learning + Competences. Through internships, workplace learning and cooperation with sectors and companies you will be guided to one good place in the labor market. We also offer some of the courses indoors Duaal Learning.

If you pass one of our courses you will achieve it certificate of Secondary Education. Also a certificate business management is possible.
